The Institute has always considered the role of the library for the training and updating of all personnel, of primary importance.
The original library dates back to 1930, and was already furnished with a large number of veterinary books.

Scientific papers were also collected in the library. Over time, the collection of books in the libraary has gradually risen, with now over 10,000 scientific books, some of them from 18th Century, and several scientific journals. (Virtual Visit)
There are currently over 90 subscriptions to national and international journals covering a large variety of topics. Furthermore, subscriptions have been taken out on databanks, such as Science Direct, Analytical Abstract, Asfa, CAB and Medline, which allow Institute personnel immediate access to bibliographical research on all international scientific publications.
